Just a little update on loverman…
It’s been 23 weeks and 3 days since he was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) and it’s been almost 3 months since our last cancer clinic visit. The next appointment is on May 7th. That is when he will have his second round of molecular/DNA tests and we will find out a couple of weeks after that if he is finally responding to the chemo treatment… or not. Over the course of the last almost 3 months, nothing has sent us rushing to the hospital… so I’m going to say that is a really good thing. However, even if he felt like he should go to the ER, he probably wouldn’t say anything. Grrrr… 😉
Kevin is still hanging in there as best he can. He is still experiencing some good days and bad days and some days are a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but we are getting through them. Some of the more severe scary side effects of his chemo treatment have somewhat subsided. He has lost a bit of weight, but it still fluctuates from day to day. We don’t know if the weight loss is a good thing or a bad thing, but we’re hoping it’s all good. He still suffers from some pretty severe pain and side effects, but we just keep surrounding him with love, positivity and humor and he manages to get though each day. I swear, if we didn’t laugh as much as we do, I am most certain we would all be in a padded cell! For real! Love and laughter are stronger than cancer!
This morning when he woke up, he was a little bit sad and depressed. This afternoon he decided he was going to go out on his bike for the first time this year! So now he’s out making some noise around town.
Leukemia can’t keep an awesome man down!
Until the next update, take good care of you and your special ones and always remember to make the BEST of IT… so IT never gets the BEST of you! Whatever IT may be! =)
Thanks for stopping by!
